Our Accompanist

DOROTHY KOLINSKY is a Stamford native and a former public school teacher, having taught 5th and 6th grades at Northeast Elementary School as well as music and chorus at Turn of River Middle School.

She is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, and has done solo piano, chamber music and orchestral concertizing in the New York metropolitan area. She is currently staff pianist for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and is the principal accompanist and chorus repetiteur of the Troupers Light Opera. In addition, she has been the accompanist for the Stamford Chorale (formerly the MasterSingers of Stamford) since 1996.

Dorothy has been an adjudicator for the Connecticut Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Music Festival as well as numerous other competitions.

She is an active member of the Schubert Club and an avid chamber music and duo piano performer.

In the role of musical director and/or accompanist she has been involved with such diverse groups as the New Canaan Summer Theater, Wilton Children's Theater, WestFair Chamber Singers, West Hill High School, Cloonan Middle School, Long Ridge Church, Temple Beth EI, JCC Community Theater, New Canaan Country School and Middlesex Middle School and has performed dozens of musicals from Annie to West Side Story.

She also teaches piano and works extensively in a variety of pianistic endeavors.
